First Team
After making his debut in 2013, Mark Percival, š¤“ ‘The Prince’ has established himself as oneĀ of the best centres in Super League…
Lightning quick off the mark, he produced an impressive ābow’ and went on to make a further 10 appearances for the Saints that year.
In 2014, Percival continued his development playing 18 times and scoring 136 points and last season added another 114 points.
Although 2016 was beset by injury, ‘Percy’s’ form was good enough to see him selected for England and the Four Nations. That continued in 2017 with the centre being named in the Dream Team and representing England at the World Cup.
2018 brought more International recognition for Mark as well as his second appearance in the Dream Team.
2019 was another impressive season for the centre. He scored 12 tries in 26 appearances including a try in the Grand Final success over Salford, whilst his defensive work was often commended throughout the season.
Percy was limited to just 5 appearances in 2020 as injury curtailed much of his season, but he was back to his best in 2021 being named in the Super League Dream Team for the third time as he helped Saints win the three-peat of three Super League Grand Finals and a first Challenge Cup for 13 years!
2022 was a mixed season for Mark performing strongly at the start of the season but an injury kept him out of the middle to the end of the campaign, but he made his return in a victorious semi final which took us to Old Trafford once again. At the Theatre of Dreams ‘The Prince’ leapt on a grubber kick to score and screamed with joy at a packed out Stretford End with all the Saints fans as the Red V secured an historic fourth title in a row!
Mark’s kicked a vital penalty in the 2023 World Club Challenge, stepping in during the game and playing a big part in Saints securing their third World Title in a history making occasion. It was the perfect start to the season for Percy, who celebrated a much deserved testimonial campaign in 2023.
Ahead of the 2024 season, ‘The Prince’ was announced to have extended his time with the Club again, keeping him in the Red V until at least the end of 2026!
In March 2025, Percival marked his 250th match appearance for our club with a thrilling away win over Catalans Dragons in the South of France.
