Saints squad for Good Friday 2025

St.Helens Head Coach Paul Wellens has named his 21-man squad ahead of the Good Friday (18th April) Betfred Super League clash against Wigan Warriors!

St.Helens First Team 21-man squad announcement is sponsored by St Helens Flooring.

It is one of the biggest and most exciting days in the rugby league calendar, as two towns collide, two of our sport’s biggest and most successful clubs in The Derby!

Paul Wellens and Matt Peet are two men tasked with taking charge of their hometown clubs as Head Coaches and know just how much this fixture and this rivalry means to every single supporter.

Both teams sit level on points in the Betfred Super League with five victories and two losses, with the goal for both to succeed in the league competition after exiting the Challenge Cup.

St.Helens last Friday night following a short turn-around beat a tough Wakefield Trinity side 26-14, with a strong first half showing to bounce back following the disappointment of the Cup Quarter Final loss.

Wigan’s Fourth Round exit from the Challenge Cup allowed them a week off to prepare for a big game against the current league leaders, Hull KR, last week. The Warriors beat the Robins 12-28 in an impressive away victory.

This is a match that always delivers, with a completely SOLD OUT crowd confirmed weeks ago, it is going to be some atmosphere on Good Friday.

We know our over 5,000 fans in the away end will bring the noise, as the Red V look to get one over our fiercest rival at their house!
