SCDF’s Cycle to Perpignan Fundraiser

The Saints Community Development Foundation today begins a three-day team cycling challenge, all in support of the work that the Foundation does in our local community.

As the St.Helens First Team prepares to head over to France to take on Catalans Dragons in Round 6 of Betfred Super League 2025, the charitable arm of our club will be taking on a cycling challenge which will together see our fundraising team cycle the total distance from the Totally Wicked Stadium to the Stade Gilbert Brutus as the crow flies.

Point to point, the team challenge is just over 785 miles or 1260 kilometres to be cycled!

Our cycling team will be based in the Tesco Extra supermarket on James Roby Way (next to the Totally Wicked Stadium), and two stationary bikes will be set up for this cycling distance challenge.

Many members of staff from both the SCDF and the Club itself have committed to taking part as part of a big team effort over the next three days (Wednesday, 26th March to Friday, 28th March).

Why is the SCDF doing this challenge?

This fundraising event is to help raise money for the inclusion programmes that are run by the Saints Community Development Foundation, such as our Learning Disability Super League, and Wheelchair Rugby League Teams, or our Inclusive Cheer and Volunteering programmes.

Sport and activity can be accessible for all, and the SCDF’s inclusion programmes highlight just how important they can be for people.

How can I donate?

If you are visiting the supermarket and see our team, pop by and say hello, offer some words of encouragement and, if you can, please donate some money to the cause with donation boxes available with our staff.
