Head Coach of St.Helens Paul Wellens has confirmed his 21-man squad for this Saturday's Betfred Super League away fixture against Wakefield Trinity.
St.Helens First Team 21-man squad announcement is sponsored by St Helens Flooring.
The Red V go to the DIY Kitchens Stadium in Wakefield for this Round 3 encounter, with kick-off scheduled for 2:30pm. It is back-to-back visits to West Yorkshire for the Saints following last Saturday night’s strong victory over Castleford Tigers, 6-46, to make it two wins from two to start Super League 2025.
Wakefield have been rejuvenated with their new ownership from the end of 2023, sweeping all aside in the Championship in 2024 and recruiting a very strong squad for their return to the Super League this year in 2025. The start of the new campaign has seen Daryl Powell’s men win one and lose one, but in both games show they are very competitive, will not be in the top-flight to make up the numbers, and will make their home a tough place to go to.
Last time out Wakefield took on last year’s Grand Finalists Hull KR and if not for a missed conversion, albeit from the sidelines, the match would have likely gone to Golden Points, but the Robins edged an away victory, 12-14.
It is also our first visit to the home of the Trin since September 2023 when we came away with the spoils winning 16-32 with five different try scorers, including James Roby in what would turn out to be his final try for St.Helens.
Well over 1,000 Saints supporters have their tickets to be in that number in Wakefield!

SQUAD NEWS
Paul Wellens makes two changes to the squad that got the big win at The Jungle in the last round.
Morgan Knowles is unavailable after failing his Head Injury Assessment in the match against Castelford, he is expected to be back for next week’s home match against Hull KR. George Whitby is the other Saint who steps out of our match day selection.
Moses Mbye and Ben Davies are our Saints that step into the 21-man squad.
Mbye has yet to feature in our competitive season after picking up a small injury in our Pre-Season Friendly against Salford, however he has returned to full training and could be available to feature. Davies played in the Saints’ Challenge Cup tie against West Hull before going on loan to Castleford Tigers where he played against Hull KR. Following that loan, Wellens now has him back and ready for St.Helens.
