A quick report on which of our St.Helens players have been out on dual-registration or loan this past weekend (21st-23rd February 2025).
Three Saints were on out on duty for other clubs over the weekend that has just gone, so here is your recap on how they got on.
Konrad Hurrell – Halifax Panthers 24-14 Barrow Raiders
For a second week running Hurrell appeared on dual registration for our partner Halifax Panthers in their home opener of the Betfred Championship season.
It was a milestone day for our Tongan centre, it was his 250th career match and he was delighted to mark it with a victory. Konrad also provided an assist for James Saltonstall to go for Fax too, before going close to scoring himself on a number of occasions but heroic Raiders defence kept Hurrell out.
The West Yorkshire side had a real battle with the Cumbrian outfit at The Shay, and heading into the final five minutes Halifax were down to 12 men following a sin bin for a professional foul, followed by a score to make it 24-14 made for a tense final few minutes but Panthers made it two wins from two to the start of their league campaign.
Alfie Sinclair & Jake Davies – Swinton Lions 16-10 Whitehaven
Two of our youngsters got the chance for valuable competitive game time featuring for our dual registration partners in Betfred League One, Swinton Lions.
Sinclair was named in Lions Head Coach Paul Wood’s starting lineup, which also featured former Saints Academy players Louie Roberts and Ellis Anderson. Alfie played just over an hour, putting in a solid shift at prop.
It was a memorable day for Jake Davies, who made his professional debut for the Lions.
Swinton secured a win in their league opener, a nip and tuck game with the score always close throughout but a late Harry Higham try ensured the victory for the hosts.
