Head Coach Paul Wellens has named his 21-man St.Helens squad for the Round 19 fixture away against Leigh Leopards on Friday, 26th July, which kicks off at the Leigh Sports Village at 8pm.
Heading into the final third of the regular Betfred Super League season, the Saints are sat in forth place and looking to shake off a recent bad run of results, four losses in a row. The top six play-off places are tight too, and the fight for the top still has plenty of rugby to be played, but the Red V must stem this run and get back to winning ways – despite being heavily down on troops.
Our hosts this Friday night are eighth place in the league ladder, outside the play-offs mix, but head into this round of matches on a two-match winning run. The Leopards are aiming to make a late surge into the top six, and will view this Friday’s match as a big one for their play-offs bid.
The Saints and the Leopards have already faced one another in the 2024 season back at the start of March, with St.Helens coming away the victors in a 12-4 victory. Wellens’ men will be keen to make it a league double over the Leythers, stem the losing run, and keep up the fight in the upper reaches of the league table.
Over 900 St.Helens supporters already have their tickets secured for the trip to the Leigh Sports Village, and you too can be in that number! Full away day ticketing details can be found by clicking here!

Paul Wellens makes three changes to the squad that was named for the last round with Jake Burns. Tee Ritson and Owen Dagnall stepping out of the team.
It is a big boost to see back-rower Matt Whitley back amongst the 21-man side after suffering shoulder injury in our away match against Hull KR back at the start of May. Furthermore the Saints also could have star winger Tommy Makinson return following a foot injury that was picked up during our win over London Broncos in the capital in June.
Young forward Leon Cowen also steps into the declared squad, he has been on dual-registration at Swinton Lions in recent months. Should he feature on Friday night, our former Academy Captain would make his official Super League and Club debut.
