Huddersfield Giants have today confirmed that Saints half back Theo Fages will join the Yorkshire club in 2022 after signing a three year deal.
The 27-year-old French international has been at the Saints for six seasons and has won three Betfred Super League Grand Finals and a Betfred Challenge Cup.
Fages joined the Club ahead of the 2016 season from Salford and has gone on to make a total of 140 appearances, scoring 39 tries – including in his last appearance for the Saints against Castleford Tigers at Wembley as Saints won the Challenge Cup for the first time in 13 years.
Fages told saintsrlfc.com: “I want to thank everyone at St Helens for the past six years including all the staff my teammates and the fans, I have made so many friends for life.
“The past six years have been the best of my career. I was gutted to pick up my injury mid way through this season but to play my part in winning three Super League titles in a row plus the challenge cup has just been a dream.
“Everything comes to an end and I leave the club with so many amazing memories from this great club and town, but I am looking forward to a new challenge at the Huddersfield Giants next year.”
It has been well documented that with success and the rise in stock of young players at the Club, comes salary cap constraints and although the Club is disappointed to see Theo move on, we all wish him well for the future.
Fages joins, Lachlan Coote, Kevin Naiqama, Joel Thompson, James Bentley, Josh Eaves and Nico Rizzelli who all sadly depart the Club.
We will pay tribute to all our departing players in the coming days.
