This week for the Saints

There are three matches for St.Helens this week, with our First Team, Reserves facing Warrington away, and the Saints Women in Quarter Final action!

Thursday night kicks off all our action with the Saints taking on Warrington for the third time inside six weeks, this time as the league meeting at the home of the Wolves.

Our Reserves will also face the Wire, however that game will be played at Victoria Park in Warrington on Saturday afternoon.

Also on Saturday, the Saints Women will be battling for a Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Semi Final spot against London Broncos!

See the key information for all three matches below.

First Team vs Warrington Wolves (A)

It is the final chapter of this recent trilogy of matches between the Saints and the Wolves, and Paul Wellens’ men will be charged up to ensure this result goes in our favour closing defeats in the home league match in March, and the away Quarter Final Challenge Cup fixture at the start of April.

St.Helens have further motivation, as if it was needed, to get a positive result at the home of the Wire, after suffering an away loss in The Derby to Wigan Warriors on Good Friday. Despite a spirited fightback from 18-2 down, the Red V went on to lose 24-14 – a result which will no doubt leave Saints stinging and itching to get back out on the field to improve.

Warrington also lost their Easter match, away to Leigh Leopards 18-14, leaving the Wolves placed ninth in the Super League standings heading into Round 9.

Reserves vs Warrington Wolves (A)

Ian Talbot’s young Saints are heading to our nearby neighbours Warrington on Saturday afternoon for Round 5 of the Reserves Championship 2025.

So far the Red V are two wins from four in the campaign, looking to earn a first back-to-back victory in the year following an impressive 42-12 home win over Wakefield Trinity last time out.

The Wolves Reserves are undefeated so far in 2025, three of which have come at home over Wakefield, Leigh and Hull FC, with their away win coming over Bradford. Last time out it was a close game against the Black & Whites, 30-20, so our Saints will be out to stop their winning run and build consistency ourselves.

  • Kick-off at 1pm
  • Victoria Park, WA4 1DQ
  • Entry is £5 for adults or £2 for juniors/concessions

Women vs London Broncos (H)

Following comprehensive Group Stage victories over Warrington Wolves Women by 102-0 at home, and Cardiff Demons 0-54 away, Craig Richards and Derek Hardman’s Saints have finished top of Group A and earned a home Quarter Final against London Broncos Women.

The Saints’ fourth straight defence of the Challenge Cup trophy has got off to a strong start, with a Semi Final spot up for grabs on Saturday afternoon.

London have booked their spot in their first ever Women’s Challenge Cup Quarter Final after losing 0-44 to Wigan Warriors, but beating Women’s Super League side Barrow Raiders Ladies 14-22 up in Cumbria last weekend.
