Watch the highlights as our women took to the field for their first competitive game of the season as we took on Warrington in the first game of the Women's Challenge Cup Group Stage.
Our women’s side went into the game off the back of a number of changes in the off season, with a change of coaching staff, and the return of Amy Hardcastle, and Shona Hoyle, as well as the signings of Caitlin Casey and Hollie Bawden, and a number of academy promotions. Women’s heritage number 1 Tara Jones also left the club, leaving the number 9 shirt to Katie Mottershead.
Off the back of that, we were looking to put our best foot forward as we look to retain the Challenge Cup for a fifth season, and that begins in the Group stage where we know we will need to put in some big performances to come out at the top of the group.
Warrington come into the game looking for some improvement on last season, and following a good off season for them this would be their first chance to get out onto the field as a team competitively as they look to build for the coming season.
