This week for the Saints

Three of our St.Helens teams are in action, with the First Team taking on Wakefield; as are our Reserves in part one of our Saturday double header with our Women's team facing Warrington!

Friday night gets us started with the First Team welcoming Wakefield Trinity to the Totally Wicked Stadium for the first time since 2023.

On Saturday, our ground will host a double header of match action as the Reserves also take on Trinity, and the Saints Women are finally back in match action for the first time in the 2025 Women’s Rugby League season!

All the important details you need to know about all three matches can be found below.

Please note, entry to Saturday’s double header will be via 2025 Saints Members cards, or by purchasing your match ticket for the Women’s match, with that ticket granting entry to both of that day’s fixtures.

First Team vs Wakefield Trinity (H)

Both the Red V and the Trin head int this fired up after exiting the Betfred Challenge Cup 2025 this past weekend.

However, the Saints will be looking to make it back-to-back victories in Super League after a dramatic 13-14 win over the Catalans Dragons in Perpignan two weeks ago. This week, we are back home following two weeks on the road too.

Wakefield are stinging after their loss to Leigh Leopards at the weekend, but they too in Super League games are looking to make it two wins on the spin after their most impressive performance of the year so far, beating the Leopards 14-40 back in Round 6.

Paul Wellens’ men know to expect a tough challenge with the Trin, who put up a physical contest in our 6-26 victory over them at the start of March.

Reserves vs Wakefield Trinity (H)

Ian Talbot’s young Saints will take on Wakefield in their second match of the Reserves season.

St.Helens Reserves last time out came up against the Leeds Rhinos at Stanningley, coming up against a team with a number of senior Leeds players, but it was a poor performance on the road by our players, losing 48-0.

Talbot and the Saints will want a big response to that, and to earn a second win of the campaign so far, this time at our house – the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Women vs Warrington Wolves (H)

It has been a long Pre-Season for the Saints Women, and their competitive season will begin finally on Saturday, as will our bid to retain the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup! The four-in-row Cup winning Saints take on Warrington Wolves in the opening match of the Group Stage, with the Cardiff Demons to play in Wales next Saturday.

Amy Hardcastle and Shona Hoyle could mark their returns to the Club by featuring, and the likes of Caitlin Casey, Georgina Holmes and Hollie Bawden if selected would make their official Saint debuts.

Another reason this match is an exciting one is it will be the first match with Craig Richards & Derek Hardman in charge as Joint Head Coaches!

Don’t miss out and get down to our ground to cheer on our Reserves, followed by the Women’s match.
