Seven Saints to face Australia Jillaroos in Las Vegas

England Women's Head Coach Stuart Barrow has named his 18-player squad that will face the Australia Jillaroos this Saturday at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with seven of our Saints Women in line for the match.

England Women against the Australia Jillaroos is the third game of a fantastic quadruple header of rugby league action to come from the United States of America on Saturday night going into Sunday morning. Kick-off for this women’s match is scheduled for 2am in the UK, which will be 6pm local time in Las Vegas.

St.Helens & England Women’s captain Jodie Cunningham will lead out six of her teammates, with her club Joint Head Coach Derek Hardman serving the national side too as Barrow’s Assistant Coach too.

Amy Hardcastle and Shona Hoyle, like Cunningham, were in the last England team to face Australia back in 2017 and are in line to do so again, nearly eight years later. Fellow Saints Zoe Harris, Katie Mottershead and Vicky Whitfield are set for their first encounter against the current World Champions.

Red V Centre Erin Stott will be ready if required as 18th player, and there will be even more of a Saintly feel to the England side with Paige Travis, who has been training with our club all Pre-Season in anticipation of her move to join the Parramatta Eels Women from the 2025 season too.

The England Women have been hard at work on the field in Vegas, and have even visited the UFC’s Performance Institute as part of their preparation too.

Our captain has also been on media duties including an interview with Sky Sports’ Brian Carney (who dressed the part given the location) and you can watch that chat by clicking here to go to Sky Sports’ website.

England supporters have also been given a wonderful opportunity to meet the players and have items signed by the team ahead of the match on Saturday.

All at St.Helens R.F.C. would like to wish Derek, Jodie, Amy, Zoe, Shona, Katie, Paige, Vicky and Erin the very best of luck, on what is bound to be a huge day for Women’s Rugby League!
