Matty Smith and Tom McBride have named their squads for Wednesday nights double header at the Totally Wicked Stadium!
For the first time ever, we will have a women’s double header at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Wednesday evening!
Tom McBride will lead his Academy side against rivals Wigan Warriors at 5:15pm, before Matty Smith’s First Team take on York Valkyrie at 7:30pm.

The Sportsman will be streaming the second part of our double header on Wednesday evening live on their YouTube channel. It will be the third time the Saints have been shown live on the platform in 2024, the other two being away clashes against York and Leeds Rhinos.
Tickets are available online here for the game for Wednesday, as you get two games for the price of one at the Totally Wicked Stadium. You will also be able to purchase on the gate (card only) with them costing £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and £2 for juniors. 2024 Members will have free access to the game, as they do to all Saints Women fixtures.
Matty Smith’s 21-woman squad vs York Valkyrie
Matty Smith makes just one change to his 21-woman squad that faced Warrington Wolves at the Totally Wicked Stadium last weekend. Leah Burke returns to the squad after recovering from injury in place of Grace Arrowsmith.
Saints’ only league defeat of the year came to the Valkyrie back in April, a 20-16 defeat at the LNER Community Stadium, so the Red V will be hoping for a more positive result this time around.
Tom McBride’s 20-woman squad vs Wigan Warriors
The young Saints beat the Warriors 0-10 at Wigan St Jude’s earlier on in the year, their first ever victory over the Cherry and Whites.
Its the final scheduled game of 2024 for McBride’s side, so they will be looking to end their season on a high.
An impressive 0-74 away victory over Warrington was followed by that victory against the Warriors. Their latest game of the year saw Leeds Rhinos beat Saints 14-26 at Cowley.
