THREE local community Rugby League clubs in St Helens have recently been awarded the prestigious Clubmark Gold status in recognition of their excellent operating standards.
Launched on April 1 2009, the new Clubmark accreditation was split into two tiers, Clubmark and Clubmark Gold.
Thatto Heath Crusaders ARLFC, Portico Vine ARLFC and Haydock ARLFC have all achieved Clubmark Gold, the highest level of accreditation which contains all the criteria of Clubmark, plus added specific requirements and recognises quality clubs with junior teams with enhanced provision.
Bold Miners ARLFC have been awarded with Clubmark, for exceeding RFLminimum operating standards.
Dan Parkinson, the RFL’s North West Youth Volunteer Coordinator, has been supporting clubs through this process alongside Steve Sexton, from St Helens RLFC. “
All four clubs fully deserve their awards they have all put a huge amount of effort into demonstrating that they have the highest standards which have now been endorsed by the RFL,” said Parkinson.
Brendan O’Neil, Haydock ARLFC added: “Clubmark Gold has been hard to achieve, however it has helped us to focus and plan for our future development. We are delighted to have achieved the award!”
All four clubs will now receive two tickets to the Gillette World Club Challenge in February 2010 and will very much be driving forward their clubs plans for the New Year and beyond.
