Don't Write Us Off!
JAMES Roby is confident Saints will still be in the mix for the Super League title despite Monday's loss to Warrington.
Speaking as the side prepared to travel to Wakefield this Sunday, the hooker says you can never write the club off.
"We don't become a bad team overnight but we didn't play as well as we can play," he said. "Warrington did their basics well, kicked well, completed their sets and it felt like we were constantly coming off our own line all the time. We didn't really have many chances at the other end. When we did get up there we missed the chances we should have scored off.
"Over the last couple of months we have played really well and knocked off wins in a row. We know what we are capable of. We have to get back to winning ways and put this one down to being off our game. There are four rounds before the playoffs and we want to so as well as we can."
He continued: "Getting to the Grand Final six years in a row is a great achievement but we have come up short in the last five. People focus on that but don't see the achievement in getting there after such a disappointment. We want that trophy coming back here. We have been in tough positions and have made it.
"Earlier on in the year we were in ninth. We had to show character, do our jobs and now we have climbed up the table. I wouldn't say the result against Warrington was a setback, it doesn't mean it has derailed our hopes. We need to get back to winning ways this week.
"No one can write us off as a team with the quality and ability we have. And I know if we all do our jobs then we will be fine."
