Saints Juniors Surge Back to the Top

Saints surged back to the top of the Gillette Academy with a seven try demolition of the Vikings in their own back yard.
 
The key to the victory was a first half display of punishing defence and a lethal left sided attack to which the Vikings had no answer all evening.
 
Man of the Match Martin Waring started off proceedings running around his opposite number and touching down under the posts.
 
His left centre Tom Makinson then scored his first try in Saints colours before Jack Bradbury again touched down wide out on the left wing.
 
Both scored further touchdowns later in the half as the Saints moved the ball sweetly along the line. Karl Ashall converted two for a 24 – 0 interval lead.
 
The Vikings restored some pride with the first score of the second period and an improved showing put the Saints under a sustained period of pressure.
 
But class told eventually and further scores from Waring again and the impressive Karl Forster pushed the Saints into a comfortable lead.
 
Andy Yates and Warren Thompson, as ever, shone for the Saints as did Tom Makinson and Karl Forster.
