Whittle Cup
Saints will continue to run the established Whittle Cup in 2009.
The Cup, which has grown to be a highlight of the junior Rugby League after its conception in 1996.
Matt Daniels, of Saints Community Development Foundation: “Year on year The Whittle Cup has grown and now more than twenty local primary schools enter. The festival has established itself as a premier sporting event within the schools competitions calendar.
The skill level and competition continues to impress and in 2009 we are expected the big names like Sherdley and Bleak Hill to emerge with a few underdogs who have been working hard in preparation.”
The Whittle Cup is delivered through a partnership between St. Helens RLFC community team and St. Helens Council sports development team.
